The Ox-FAC-08 Field Angled Fiber Cleaver is used to reduce back reflection in field terminations by cleaving the optical fiber at an angle.


The Ox-FAC-08 achieves a cleave of 8 degrees for 125 um singlemode and PM fiber.

Operation:
The fiber is placed in a 2-lid fiber holder. The tool has a "stapler" like action. Closing the tool clamps the fiber using low-impact rubber clamps, tensions and bends the fiber. The clamping mechanism then swings down on to a diamond blade which score the fiber to give an 8 degree angled cleave.

The angle end reduces the back reflection to less than -60dB.
