| The fiber is placed in a
2-lid fiber holder. The tool has a "stapler" like action. Closing the tool
clamps the fiber using low-impact rubber clamps, tensions and bends the
fiber. The clamping mechanism then swings down on to a diamond blade which
score the fiber to give an 8 degree angled cleave. The angle end reduces the back reflection to less than -60dB. | |||||
